Manatee County, home of Bradenton, was primarily founded on the vast agricultural land surrounding the Manatee River. Bradenton to this day is home of one of the Tropicana Orange Juice processing facilities and the Pittsburg Pirates spring training camp. What Manatee County is best known for is its coastal and recreational areas. Anna Maria Island and the Southern portion of Long Boat Key are in the county and attract over 1 million visitors each year making Anna Maria Island a hot market for real estate and investors. The inter coast water of Anna Maria Sound to the Manatee River support a vast 600+ acre marsh that is home to countless species of fish, manatees, eagles and other aquatic life. The Robinson preserve offers visitors paved walking and biking paths as well as a 120 foot observation tower with expansive views of the Preserve and Tampa Bay. Perhaps the best way to view the area is by paddle board or kayak and rentals are available off the Manatee Ave. causeway.
